Stories of Moral Distress in PICU Practice: Wendy Austin PhD RN

In this free 3-hour workshop, stories of PICU professionals’ experience of Moral Distress gathered in ongoing CIHR-funded research will be presented. Intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, residents, clinical fellows, social workers and dietitians told their stories to the research team and a typology is in development. Stories will be introduced to workshop participants who will then be invited to respond. Do the paradigmatic stories fit the participants’ own experience of Moral Distress in PICU? As this workshop is integral to the research project, workshop attendees will need to give written consent to participate. A light lunch will be provided.
