Dr. Darren Hudson MSc MD FRCPC is really into technology. More importantly he is really into technology that actually makes sense for healthcare workers and helps patients. He is a fulltime ICU physician and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta Hospital. His focus on infomatics also means that he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the School of Health Information Science at the University of Victoria, and the Associate Medical Director of eCritical for the province of Alberta. He is rather keen on jumping in and out of helicopters and so being the Associate Medical Director of Alberta’s STARS organization just makes sense. His academic interests focus on the practical interface between humans and machines, and how to ensure that we get the best mix of common sense and data. When not doing the above he can be found rather enjoying the company of his wife Amy and son Grant. They just wish he wouldn’t work so hard, but they understand that there’s too much exciting stuff going on.
